More than 11,000 Netflix users in the United States experienced an outage on Sunday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com. The issue occurred during a live stream of the dating reality show, “Love is Blind”. The platform, which is aiming to break into live television, apologized for the disruption and stated that services had been restored shortly after the brief outage.
At its peak, around 10,000 users reported issues accessing the live stream on Downdetector. The show, presented by Vanessa and Nick Lachey, was scheduled to stream from Los Angeles at 5 pm, with Netflix users able to join a waiting room for the show 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. However, some users who joined the waiting room were still there an hour later.
The show eventually went live at about 6:16 pm, although some Netflix users continued to experience issues accessing it. The streaming platform apologized to users who were impacted by the outage and promised to upload the episode to Netflix as soon as possible.
