Pakistan’s automotive sector is gearing up for a busy second half of 2026, with around 23 new vehicles expected to enter the market between June and December. The upcoming launches reflect a significant shift toward electrified transportation, as automakers increasingly focus on electric and hybrid technologies.

According to the latest automobile launch tracker released by Arif Habib Limited (AHL), the majority of upcoming models will feature alternative powertrains. The expected lineup includes nine fully electric vehicles (EVs), 11 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and three conventional petrol-powered models.

The anticipated launches highlight the rapid transformation of Pakistan’s automotive landscape, where consumer interest in fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles continues to grow. Automakers are responding by expanding their EV and hybrid offerings across multiple price segments.

June is expected to be one of the busiest months of the year for new vehicle introductions. Several leading automotive brands are preparing to unveil new models aimed at strengthening their presence in the local market.

Among the expected launches, Changan is set to introduce the UNI-S, a petrol-powered crossover designed to appeal to customers seeking a blend of performance and modern features. Meanwhile, Great Wall Motors (GWM) is preparing to launch the Cannon Alpha, a plug-in hybrid vehicle expected to target buyers looking for efficiency and versatility.

MG is also expected to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with the introduction of two new EVs, the IM5 and IM6. These models are anticipated to strengthen the company’s position in Pakistan’s growing electric mobility segment.

Jetour is planning to launch two petrol-powered SUVs, the T1 and T2, as part of its efforts to capture a larger share of the local market. Omoda is also expected to enter the spotlight with the launch of the C7 plug-in hybrid, reflecting the increasing popularity of hybrid technology among Pakistani consumers.

The expected wave of launches demonstrates how automakers are aligning with global industry trends that prioritize sustainability, lower emissions, and advanced vehicle technologies. As charging infrastructure and consumer awareness continue to improve, electric and hybrid vehicles are gradually becoming more viable options for Pakistani buyers.

Industry experts believe the influx of new models will intensify competition among manufacturers, giving consumers a wider range of choices across different vehicle categories. The arrival of more EVs and PHEVs could also contribute to reducing dependence on conventional fuels and support the country’s long-term sustainability goals.

With nearly two dozen new vehicles expected to arrive by the end of the year, 2026 could prove to be a landmark year for Pakistan’s automotive industry. The upcoming launches are likely to reshape the market and accelerate the transition toward electrified mobility across the country.
