Pakistan’s premier fast bowler Haris Rauf has successfully completed his recovery from a hamstring injury and is back in full training. His availability comes as a welcome boost to the national team, particularly ahead of a key T20I series against the West Indies in August.
Rauf sustained the injury earlier this month while featuring in Major League Cricket (MLC). The pacer was advised a two-week rehabilitation period, which sidelined him from the upcoming three-match T20 series against Bangladesh, set to begin on 20 July.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Rauf has resumed bowling under the supervision of the medical team and is showing no signs of discomfort. His fitness clearance now opens the door for his inclusion in the squad for the Caribbean tour.
The Pakistan vs West Indies series holds added significance, as it will serve as a key preparatory assignment ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Team selectors are expected to use the series to finalize core player combinations.
Known for his express pace and ability to bowl at the death, Rauf’s return will bolster Pakistan’s bowling arsenal. His experience in overseas leagues like the Big Bash and MLC continues to add depth to his skill set in white-ball formats.
