The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the utmost highly-anticipated electric cars out there. It also transpires to be one of the most deferred, with its production now scheduled to commence in mid-2023–nearly three years after the truck finished its debut. At this stage, advertising for the Cybertruck is almost nonexistent, but that all reformed when Elon Musk just tweeted about one of its capabilities.

Elon Musk is now saying that the Cybertruck can “serve briefly as a boat”. This was escorted by another tweet that says that the Cybertruck needs to be able to get from “Starbase to South Padre Island, which entails crossing the channel”. Whether this is true or not is up for discussion. After all, before these claims can be verified, we actually need to see the electric cartridge in production first.

This isn’t the first time that Elon Musk has blown his own horn about the waterproof competencies of Tesla vehicles. Back in 2016, Elon Musk stated that the Tesla Model S, which let us recall is a low-slung electric sports sedan, can float on water. He tweeted: “We *def* don’t recommend [sc] this, but Model S floats well enough to turn it into a boat for short periods of time. Thrust via wheel rotation.”

Elon Musk has also established a quad-motor AWD Cybertruck arrival. With an electric motor to each wheel, this option of the Cybertruck will be able to do things such as the crab walk that the Rivian R1T and GMC Hummer EV are capable of doing. And you might want to check those two electric pickups as an alternative since the Cybertruck is still in progress.
