The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated that these channels were involved in spreading fake news and coordinated disinformation on sensitive topics such as the Indian Armed Forces and Jammu and Kashmir .
In addition to digital platforms, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has directed cable operators to cease airing 30 television channels, including Pakistani news and religious channels.
