Elon Musk said recently that he may come up with his own smartphone if Google and Apple remove Twitter from their app stores. It is reported that both Google and Apple are strictly scrutinizing the bird app and are thinking to ban it.

In the past, many people have coined the idea of a smartphone by Musk. There are even several videos available on this topic on YouTube, which are garnering a lot of attention these days. The alleged product “Tesla Pi Phone” is supposed to compete against iPhone and many other smartphone brands.

Though such videos were thought to be a joke in the past, Elon Musk’s recent suggestion to launch a new smartphone tell us that a Musk-led smartphone can turn into a reality anytime soon.

Musk has been surrounded by controversies ever since he has taken over the microblogging platform. He has been asking questions from his followers and creating polls to get people’s feedback on different things. Few days ago, he asked his followers if general amnesty should be offered to suspended accounts or not.

Liz Wheeler, a podcaster has tweeted to Musk, “If Apple and Google boot Twitter from their app stores, Elon Musk should produce his own smartphone. Half the country would happily ditch the biased, snooping iPhone and android. The man builds rockets to Mars, a silly little smartphone should be easy, right?”

Elon Musk replied to Wheeler that “I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone.”
