Squid Games has become the most talked-about show on Netflix lately. The streaming service said on Wednesday that the show has now officially become Netflix’s biggest original show with 111 million fans worldwide.

The thrill-packed show comprising of 9 parts shows cash-strapped contestants who start playing their childhood games with severe consequences. All this is done to win $38 Million.

Squid Games has launched just a month ago and has already inspired a lot of content creators worldwide including members. Not to mention, the show has also sparked a new debate in South Korea about toxic competitions that exist in society.

Netflix announced on Twitter, “Squid Game has officially reached 111 million fans — making it our biggest series launch ever!

Chief Content Officer and Co-CEO Netflix Ted Sarandos revealed in a conference last month that even they are surprised to see the huge popularity of Squid Games.

He said, “We did not see that coming, in terms of its global popularity.”
