The SOT (School of Tomorrow) Events 2024, hosted by Beaconhouse, opened in Karachi with the theme “Guardians of the Future: Shaping Tomorrow with Generative AI.” Held at the Beach Luxury Hotel, this year’s event marks the 17th annual gathering, focusing on the transformative role of AI in shaping society’s future.
This two-day event features more than 100 distinguished speakers, including social influencers, journalists, education experts, and athletes, covering over 30 sessions on pressing social issues, including AI in education, cybersecurity, climate change, and mental health.
The conference launched with an opening keynote from Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, joined by other notable figures like Sanam Saeed and Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy, who contributed to discussions on the implications of AI in diverse fields. Kasim Kasuri, the event’s Chair, emphasized the need for AI to support a responsible and inclusive future, highlighting the importance of balancing technology with human values.
In addition to panel discussions, SOT 2024 offers interactive sessions, including AI-driven avatars as panelists and a science exhibition developed with MagnifiScience.
