Sindh Job Portal marks a major step toward digital governance and employment transparency
In a landmark move toward e-governance and merit-based recruitment, the Sindh government has officially launched the Sindh Job Portal (SJP) — Pakistan’s first digital platform for applying to government jobs.
The initiative, inaugurated by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, enables citizens to apply for provincial government positions online, eliminating the need for manual paperwork and reducing recruitment delays.
Developed jointly by the Sindh Science and Information Technology Department and Sukkur IBA University, the Sindh Job Portal reflects the government’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and technological innovation in public service hiring.
Digital transformation rooted in Benazir Bhutto’s vision
Speaking at the launch ceremony, CM Murad Ali Shah highlighted that the portal aligns with the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who championed employment and inclusion across Pakistan.
“This initiative fulfills Benazir Bhutto’s slogan — ‘Benazir Aaie Hae, Rozgar Laie Hae’. The Sindh government is continuing her legacy by providing fair employment opportunities through digital innovation,” said the Chief Minister.
He emphasized that the Sindh Job Portal will help streamline recruitment processes across all government departments, ensuring equal opportunity for citizens regardless of geography or background.
Transparency and accessibility at the core
The Sindh Job Portal (SJP) allows applicants to create profiles, upload documents, and apply directly for advertised vacancies across various departments.
Officials said the system incorporates built-in merit-based screening tools, digital verification features, and automated communication with candidates to ensure transparency at every stage.
The portal also provides detailed information about eligibility criteria, deadlines, and departmental updates, creating a centralized hub for all provincial job opportunities.
A model for other provinces
The launch of the Sindh Job Portal positions the province as a digital governance pioneer in Pakistan. Experts believe the system could serve as a national model for other provinces looking to digitize their recruitment systems and reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies.
By bridging the gap between citizens and government institutions, the Sindh Job Portal represents a significant milestone in Pakistan’s broader push toward digital transformation and inclusive employment.
