The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued an Income Tax General Order (ITGO) targeting 506,671 individuals who are liable to file Income Tax Returns for Tax Year 2023 but haven’t done so. As a consequence, the mobile SIMs registered to these individuals will be blocked until they comply with their tax obligations.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and telecom operators have been mandated to implement the ITGO immediately and submit a compliance report to FBR by May 15, 2024.

FBR urges these individuals to file their Income Tax Returns promptly to avoid service disruption and fulfill their tax responsibilities.
