In a significant move toward digitalization, the Sindh Police has announced the elimination of paper-based documentation across all 111 police stations in Karachi. According to official updates, the Sindh Police has decided to fully activate the Police Station Record Management System (PSRMS) in Karachi. The Inspector General of Police Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, emphasized that this system will replace traditional paper-based processes, streamlining record-keeping, case management, and administrative functions.
The transition is set to take place within one month for Karachi’s police stations and investigation departments. Following this, the plan will be expanded to other divisions of Sindh, which are expected to complete the shift within two months.
The Vision of a Paperless Police System
IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon highlighted the importance of this transformation, stressing that efforts will continue in the coming months to make all police stations and investigation units across the province entirely paperless. The digital system is expected to reduce bureaucratic delays, enhance accountability, and provide more accurate record-keeping.
He further directed officers and staff members to undergo training sessions to adapt to the new online system. Training will ensure smooth integration of PSRMS into daily operations, minimizing disruptions during the transition period.
