Strengthening Bilateral Engagement
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to discuss matters of mutual interest and cooperation. The call, held on Wednesday, focused on building upon the momentum of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent meeting with President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
Both sides reviewed progress on earlier engagements and agreed to take forward the commitments made at leadership level. The discussion highlighted the determination of Pakistan and Azerbaijan to deepen their multifaceted partnership.
Expanding Areas of Cooperation
The two ministers reaffirmed their resolve to enhance collaboration in various fields, with special emphasis on political dialogue, economic development, and energy partnerships. These sectors remain central to the evolving relationship between the two brotherly countries, which share historical ties and common aspirations.

Energy cooperation emerged as a priority area, as both nations aim to explore opportunities for mutual benefit in the regional energy market. Economic collaboration, including trade and investment prospects, was also emphasized as a means to bolster long-term strategic ties.

In addition to bilateral matters, Ishaq Dar and Jeyhun Bayramov exchanged views on regional and international developments. They underscored the importance of close coordination in advancing shared objectives and contributing to peace and stability in the wider region.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to strengthening its relations with Azerbaijan.
