Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, extended a warm invitation to Emirati businesspersons to explore investment opportunities in key sectors of Pakistan. During the “Business Opportunities Conference Dubai” in Dubai, attended by over 100 Pakistani and Emirati business delegates, discussions centered on fostering collaborations between the two nations.
Tirmizi highlighted the potential for business-to-business partnerships and encouraged Emirati investors to consider sectors such as real estate, energy, agriculture, and information technology in Pakistan.
“We deeply encourage business-to-business collaboration among the business community of Pakistan and UAE,” Tirmizi was quoted as saying by the consulate general at the event. “We warmly invite Emirati investors to invest in Pakistan’s real estate, energy, agriculture, I.T and other sectors.”
He emphasized the demographic advantage of Pakistan, with over 60% of its population under 30 years old, offering significant investment prospects across various industries. The enduring friendship between Pakistan and the UAE was emphasized, with the Pakistani diaspora playing a crucial role in the UAE’s growth and development.
Dr. Abdulrahman Hassan Al Muaini from the UAE’s Ministry of Economy echoed sentiments of mutual benefit, highlighting the vast potential for business communities of both countries. Hopes for positive outcomes stemming from ongoing interactions between Pakistani and Emirati businessmen were expressed, bolstering the already robust economic ties. The UAE, Pakistan’s third-largest trade partner, is strategically positioned as an ideal export destination due to geographical proximity.
“He [Al Muaini] highlighted that UAE and Pakistan offer immense potential and opportunities for business communities of both the countries,” the Pakistani consulate general said. “He hoped for positive outcomes from the ongoing interactions between the businessmen of both the countries.”
Earlier agreements signed in January, valued at over $3 billion, further solidified cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE in areas like railways, economic zones, and infrastructure development. With around 1.8 million Pakistani expatriates in the UAE, and the country being the second-largest source of remittances after Saudi Arabia, the ties between the two nations continue to strengthen economically and culturally.
