In a significant development, SpaceX’s Starship crewless space travel embarked on its maiden journey to the moon on Saturday. This marked a crucial milestone for the spacecraft; however, elation was short-lived as the second test encountered a setback, reminiscent of the initial attempt that ended in an explosion.
The two-stage rocketship, part of Elon Musk’s ambitious space exploration plans, took off from the Starbase launch site near Boca Chica in Texas, aiming for a 90-minute space flight. Unfortunately, the mission faced a hurdle as communication with the spacecraft was lost merely 10 minutes post-launch.
SpaceX’s livestream host, John Insprucker, reported, “We have lost the data from the second stage… we think we may have lost the second stage.” This unforeseen glitch adds a layer of complexity to SpaceX’s endeavors, emphasizing the challenges inherent in advancing space travel technologies.
