Syed Bilal Haider, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), presided a review meeting along with General Faisal Yousaf, IT Operations Director PITB, and other team members recently. In this meeting it was revealed that over 1 million job applications have been received so far on the portal where a total of 140 departments have been registered.
Punjab Job Portal by PITB has over 250,000 registered profiles of candidates. According to Haider, Punjab Job Portal is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to candidates where they can conveniently apply for various government job vacancies in different departments. Since the portal is easily accessible online, there is no need to physically visit any of the registered offices.
He also said that this process has reduced the chances of any malpractice and corruption that may arise due to the involvement of a middleman. The Punjab Job Portal was introduced keeping in mind the various challenges that appear in the traditional hiring methods. Now with this online portal a unified platform has been created to apply for a number of government jobs in Punjab.
This is a fast and convenient platform for both – the applicant and the employer. Applicants can even find the exact job they are looking for by simply using the search filter option. This further reduces the time and helps them apply for a job that matches their education, experience, and industry.
