PSEB to Train 20,000 Students in Advanced IT Skills as Part of PM’s Initiative

The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) is gearing up to launch a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping 20,000 university students and recent graduates with advanced IT skills. This initiative, part of the Prime Minister’s broader vision to support IT startups, specialized IT training, and venture capital, is designed to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in Pakistan’s rapidly expanding technology sector.

A Focus on Specialized IT Training

The training program will cover specialized areas crucial to the modern IT landscape, including MERN Stack development, Web Engineering, Cloud Architecture, Software Quality Assurance (SQA), and Mobile App Development. These skills are highly sought after in the global IT market and are critical to supporting Pakistan’s ambitions of becoming a leading player in the tech industry.

PSEB is in the process of selecting a company to manage and deliver this extensive training program. The chosen firm will be responsible for providing a mixed-mode training experience that balances traditional in-person learning with online sessions. Specifically, 70% of the training will take place in physical classrooms, while the remaining 30% will be conducted online. This hybrid approach is designed to offer flexibility and accessibility, ensuring that participants receive high-quality education regardless of their location.

Targeting the Next Generation of IT Professionals

The initiative is specifically tailored for students currently enrolled in the 6th, 7th, or 8th semesters of IT-related bachelor’s degree programs, as well as recent graduates who completed their studies within the past year. By focusing on individuals at this stage of their academic and professional journeys, the program aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, providing participants with the tools they need to succeed in the competitive IT job market.

Eligible applicants for delivering the training include a range of organizations such as IT training companies, software houses, IT firms, and industry associations. These entities can apply either independently or as part of a consortium, depending on their capacity and expertise. The selected organization(s) will need to demonstrate a proven ability to deliver training through industry professionals, including system architects, software developers, and cloud solution designers.

State-of-the-Art Training Facilities

The training will be conducted across multiple cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Quetta, utilizing university campuses and dedicated IT training centers. PSEB is committed to ensuring that all training facilities meet high standards of quality, with well-equipped classrooms and labs that provide students
