Several celebrities, including Yasir Hussain, Iqrar Ul Hassan, Faysal Quraishi, and Hamza Ali Abbasi, have shared their personal perspectives on polygamy, offering contrasting insights rooted in experience, faith, and practicality.
Yasir Hussain’s Monogamous Stand
Yasir Hussain, known for his witty and bold commentary on social issues, has taken a firm stance against the idea of multiple marriages. The actor expressed that he is a man who fell in love with one woman and married her, adding that he finds no logic in looking at another woman after marriage.
Yasir’s statement reflects a growing perspective among younger Pakistani men who view marriage as a lifelong partnership grounded in love and loyalty rather than societal permission or religious leniency for polygamy. He further commented that in most cases of polygamy, it is often the women who agree to become second wives in search of stability or security, rather than the men acting solely on emotional grounds.
Iqrar Ul Hassan’s Real-Life Experience
Journalist and television personality Iqrar Ul Hassan represents a more complex case when it comes to polygamy. Married three times, Iqrar’s family structure is often discussed in the media. His first two wives, Qurutulain Iqrar and Aroosa Iqrar, reportedly live together, while his third wife, Farah Iqrar, maintains her independence.
