The Kingdom of Morocco has unveiled an exciting educational opportunity for Pakistani students by offering 10 fully funded scholarships for the 2025ā26 academic year. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan shared the announcement, highlighting the chance for students to study in Moroccan public universities and institutions across a broad spectrum of academic fields.
These scholarships are open to Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) nationals and cover a range of disciplines including Medicine, Engineering, Management Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Architecture, and many others. The program is available for undergraduate, masterās, and PhD degrees, subject to strict eligibility criteria.
Applicants must be either Pakistani or AJK nationals and not hold dual nationality. Undergraduate candidates need at least 12 years of education (FSc/A-level), and must be under 23 years of age. Masterās applicants should have 16 years of education, while PhD hopefuls must have completed 18 years of relevant education. Additionally, candidates must possess a valid HAT or USAT score depending on their intended program level.
Due to the language of instruction in Morocco, which is primarily French for scientific, technical, and economic courses, selected students will undertake a French language orientation course in 2024ā25. This could be facilitated through centers like the Alliance FranƧaise in Pakistan. For those seeking degrees in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, or related fields, proficiency in Arabic is mandatory as those courses are taught in Arabic.
Students interested in this scholarship must complete the online application at scholarship.hec.gov.pk under the āMoroccan Govt Scholarship Programā section by Thursday, 12 June 2025, at 4:00 PM PST. Hard copies of documents are not required during the initial phase. However, shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit academic transcripts, a statement of purpose, recommendation letters, a medical certificate, police clearance, and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) if they are currently employed.
A crucial advisory has been issued for applicants pursuing professional degrees such as Medicine, Engineering, and Law. Itās essential to ensure that these foreign degrees are recognized by relevant Pakistani professional councils, including the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC). The PMDC has released specific guidelines that students must review before proceeding.
This initiative represents a significant opportunity for Pakistani students to expand their horizons, gain global academic exposure, and strengthen cultural ties between Pakistan and Morocco.
