The much-anticipated 1.6 update for Infinity Nikki, the open-world fashion RPG from Infold Games, has been postponed following an overwhelming wave of player complaints. Originally scheduled for release in late May 2025, the update has now been rescheduled to June 2, 2025. This decision comes after players voiced concerns over performance issues, gameplay changes, and unannounced alterations to the game’s lore.
The Fallout from Update 1.5
The controversy began with the release of the “Bubble Season” update (1.5) on April 29, which introduced several new features, including a two-player co-op mode, a dye system for outfit customization, and a new area for exploration. However, instead of enhancing the gaming experience, the update led to a series of technical issues. Players reported significant performance drops, visual bugs, and crashes across various platforms, including PS5 and PC. A Reddit user noted, “The game is a buggy mess,” criticizing the developers for being “greedy” and for making unannounced changes to the game’s lore .
In response to the backlash, Infold issued a public apology and promised to address the issues. They acknowledged over 100 bugs and stated they were working around the clock to resolve them . Despite these assurances, players remained dissatisfied, leading to the organization of a boycott under the hashtag #girlout, urging the community to refrain from playing the game until their concerns were addressed .
