Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan’s much-awaited sequel, War 2, is gearing up for an intense clash with Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947 and Rajinikanth’s Coolie. The action-thriller, part of the YRF Spy Universe, promises high-octane drama and stars Jr NTR alongside Roshan, with Kiara Advani as the female lead.
Release Dates Set for a Box Office Battle
Scheduled for release on August 14, War 2 was initially expected to compete with Vivek Agnihotri’s political drama, The Delhi Files, releasing on August 15. However, Indian media reports now confirm that Sunny Deol and Rajinikanth will also join the fray, making it a crowded week at the cinemas.

Lahore 1947, produced by Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, explores themes of partition and nostalgia. Aamir Khan himself makes a cameo appearance in this emotional period drama. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s Coolie promises to deliver the superstar’s signature style, packed with thrilling action and heartfelt moments.

Directed by the visionary Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is the latest installment in the YRF Spy Universe, which includes blockbusters like Ek Tha Tiger and Pathaan. With Jr NTR making his Bollywood debut alongside Hrithik Roshan, the film has generated immense buzz among fans.
Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par Faces Delay
While War 2 and its rivals prepare for their August release, Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, a sequel to the iconic Taare Zameen Par, has been postponed. Originally slated for Christmas 2024, Khan confirmed at the Red Sea Film Festival that the film is now aiming for a mid-2025 release.
