Gold prices in Pakistan continued their downward movement on Monday, with local rates falling in line with a similar decline in international gold prices.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs. 1,800 per tola.
After the latest decline, 24-karat gold closed at Rs. 466,136 per tola in Pakistan.
The price of 10-gram gold also recorded a decrease during the day. It fell by Rs. 1,543 to settle at Rs. 399,636.
The latest figures indicate continued pressure on gold prices in the domestic market as international bullion rates also move lower.
Gold prices in Pakistan are closely linked to developments in the global market. Changes in international bullion prices can have a direct impact on local rates, while currency movements can also influence the final price in rupees.
For investors, gold buyers and jewelers, daily changes in the gold rate remain an important market indicator. Even relatively small movements can affect the cost of jewelry and investment-grade gold.
The continued decline may also attract attention from buyers who have been waiting for an opportunity to purchase gold at comparatively lower prices.
However, gold prices can change quickly because the precious metal is influenced by several global and domestic factors. International market trends, currency fluctuations, economic uncertainty and investor demand can all contribute to price movements.
The latest APGJSA figures provide a snapshot of the domestic gold market following the recent decline in international prices.
With gold remaining a popular investment and savings option in Pakistan, consumers are expected to continue monitoring daily rates before making major purchases.
Jewelry buyers should also remember that the quoted gold rate does not represent the complete retail cost of jewelry. Making charges and other applicable costs can increase the final amount paid by consumers.
The latest decline brings the 24-karat gold price to Rs. 466,136 per tola, while 10-gram gold is now priced at Rs. 399,636.
Market participants will be watching international bullion prices and currency movements closely for indications of where gold rates in Pakistan could head next.
