Gold prices in Pakistan declined on Wednesday following a drop in the international bullion market, bringing the local price further below the Rs. 4.4 million per 10 tola mark.
According to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold fell by Rs. 3,100 per tola to settle at Rs. 434,436.
The price of 10-gram gold also decreased during the session. It dropped by Rs. 2,658 to reach Rs. 372,458, according to the latest market rates.
The decline came after gold prices remained unchanged on Tuesday. The previous day’s rate stood at Rs. 437,536 per tola.
The latest movement reflects the influence of international gold prices on the domestic bullion market. Changes in global gold rates often affect prices in Pakistan, along with currency movements and local market conditions.
In the international market, gold lost $31 per ounce and settled at $4,119. The decline in global bullion prices contributed to the downward movement in domestic gold rates.
Silver prices also recorded a decrease in Pakistan. The price of silver fell by Rs. 100 per tola, closing at Rs. 6,488.
Gold remains a closely watched commodity in Pakistan, with consumers, investors and jewelers monitoring daily changes in bullion rates. Even relatively small movements in the international market can influence local prices.
The latest decline may attract attention from buyers who have been closely following elevated gold prices in the domestic market. However, bullion rates can change quickly as international markets continue to respond to economic developments and investor activity.
Market participants are expected to keep an eye on global gold prices, currency movements and developments in international financial markets for indications of the next direction of local bullion rates.
For consumers planning to purchase jewelry or gold for investment, the daily rate remains an important factor in determining the overall cost.
