The finale of FIFA World Cup 2022 was full of surprises and extraordinary play. The game entered the penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw after the additional 30 minutes. After a very tough game, Argentina beat France with 4-2 in penalties.

It was indeed one of the most interesting finals of the world cup where both the teams presented an incredible game. Argentina started off towards victory with its one-sided penalty and a goal by Messi and Angel Di Maria in the first half. However, the game took an interesting turn when Mbappe equaled the score in the second half. From there, the match entered the extra time.

With one more goal, Messi put Argentina ahead, but Mbappe levelled the score with another penalty. With this penalty Mbappe has become the second man to score a hat-trick in the world cup after Geoff Hurst.

In the penalty shootout, the game became even more sensational and finally Argentina claimed the trophy with a 4-2 score. This is the third win for Argentina in the world cup.

It was the 26th World Cup match for Messi where he became the first player to score a goal in every match of the world cup knockout round in a single tournament. It was rumored that Messi will announce his retirement post world cup. However, he told the media post win that he wishes to continue playing for his country.
