Master Changan Motors is set to revolutionize the Pakistani automotive market with the introduction of its new electric vehicles, the Deepal S07 SUV and L07 Sedan. These vehicles have arrived at Changan Autos dealerships for testing, giving a sneak peek into the future of electric mobility in Pakistan.

On-Road Testing in Karachi

A striking lime yellow Deepal S07 SUV was recently seen on the streets of Karachi, near the Master Changan Motors Limited plant in Port Qasim. This indicates that the SUV is currently undergoing rigorous road tests before its official launch in Pakistan.

The appearance of these vehicles has piqued the interest of car enthusiasts and industry watchers alike, suggesting that the launch of Deepal’s electric vehicles is imminent. Although official details are yet to be disclosed, Deepal has already launched its social media pages on Facebook and Instagram, preparing the ground for a broader marketing push.

Partnership with Leading Technology Firms

Deepal, an electric vehicle brand by Changan, is a product of a strategic partnership with Huawei and CATL. Huawei has developed the vehicle’s operating system, Harmony OS 4, running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 platform. CATL, the world’s leading battery manufacturer, provides the 68kWh battery that powers these vehicles, offering a range of over 530 kilometers on a single charge, which is almost double that of the Audi e-tron.

Vehicle Specifications

The Deepal L07 Sedan, a mid-sized car, measures 4820 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. It features R19 wheels and a ground clearance of 150 mm, making it comparable to the Hyundai Sonata.

The Deepal S07 SUV is slightly more robust, measuring 4750 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, and 1625 mm in height, with the same wheelbase of 2900 mm. It is wider than the Santa Fe and Fortuner but shorter in height, equipped with 20-inch wheels and a ground clearance of 165 mm.

Both models feature a 250-horsepower engine, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, ensuring a powerful and efficient drive.

Design Excellence

The vehicles’ design has been overseen by Bertrand Bach, an ex-General Motors designer known for his work on Lamborghini models. The Deepal models showcase a sleek and modern exterior, with frameless doors and a sporty “Fastback” stance on the L07 Sedan, combining futuristic elements with a premium sports car aesthetic.

Market Readiness

Master Changan Motors Limited has yet to confirm an official release date for these vehicles. However, industry speculation suggests that the launch could take place within the next few months. The arrival of the Deepal S07 SUV and L07 Sedan represents a significant advancement in the Pakistani automotive industry, aligning with global shifts towards sustainable transportation.
