Gold Prices Drop by Rs. 7,000 Per Tola in Pakistan, Near Rs. 4.25 Lakh

Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a significant decline on Friday, with the rate of 24-karat gold falling by Rs. 7,000 per tola in the local market. Following the latest decrease, the price reached Rs. 424,536 per tola, bringing the precious metal closer to the Rs. 400,000 mark.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10-gram gold also dropped considerably during the session. It decreased by Rs. 6,001 to settle at Rs. 363,971.

The latest decline represents a notable movement in Pakistan’s gold market and could influence buying decisions among consumers, jewellery traders and investors. Gold prices are closely monitored across the country because the metal is widely used for jewellery, savings and investment purposes.

The sharp reduction may provide some relief to people planning to purchase gold jewellery for weddings, family events and other occasions. However, the final price paid by customers can vary depending on jewellery-making charges, shop premiums and other applicable costs.

Gold remains an important asset for many Pakistani households. Some buyers purchase it as a long-term store of value, while others view it as a way to protect their savings against economic uncertainty and fluctuations in purchasing power.

Changes in local gold prices are influenced by several factors, including international bullion rates, movements in the US dollar, the Pakistani rupee’s exchange rate and developments in global financial markets. Local market conditions can also affect the prices quoted by jewellers.

When international gold prices decline, domestic rates may also come under pressure, although the extent of the change depends partly on currency movements and local pricing calculations. Similarly, a weaker rupee can increase the local cost of imported gold even when international prices remain relatively stable.

The latest APGJSA figures provide an important reference point for buyers and sellers assessing market conditions. The decline of Rs. 7,000 per tola marks a substantial daily adjustment, while the Rs. 6,001 reduction in the 10-gram rate highlights the broader movement across standard gold measurements.

For jewellery buyers, lower market rates may create an opportunity to reassess planned purchases. However, consumers should check the latest rates with reputable jewellers before making a transaction, as prices can change with market conditions.

Investors should also distinguish between a short-term price decline and a longer-term market trend. Gold prices can move sharply in response to global economic developments, interest-rate expectations, currency movements and changes in demand for safe-haven assets.

Although falling prices can attract new buyers, they do not guarantee that gold will become cheaper in subsequent sessions. Anyone considering gold as an investment should evaluate personal financial needs, potential price volatility and the costs associated with buying and selling the metal.

With 24-karat gold now reported at Rs. 424,536 per tola and 10-gram gold at Rs. 363,971, Pakistan’s bullion market has recorded a notable correction. Buyers, investors and jewellery traders will be watching upcoming sessions to determine whether the decline continues or prices begin to recover.
