The Lahore Traffic Police has expanded its commercial driving license services by establishing three additional licensing centers for rickshaw drivers, making the process more accessible and convenient across the city.
The initiative aims to improve service delivery and reduce the burden on existing facilities by providing multiple locations where drivers can apply for and obtain commercial driving licenses. Authorities believe the move will save time for applicants and streamline the licensing process.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, commercial driving licenses for rickshaw drivers are now available at four designated centers across Lahore. These include the Manawan Licensing Center, Ichhra Licensing Center Town, Greater Iqbal Park, and Wapda Town.
Previously, drivers had to rely primarily on the Manawan center for commercial licensing services. The addition of three new locations is expected to significantly ease congestion, reduce waiting times and improve access for drivers living in different parts of the city.
To further facilitate applicants, the newly established centers will operate from Thursday through Sunday. The extended availability is intended to accommodate a larger number of drivers and ensure smoother processing of license applications.
The expansion is part of ongoing efforts by Lahore Traffic Police to modernize public services and improve accessibility for professional drivers. By decentralizing licensing operations, authorities hope to provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
Commercial driving licenses are essential for rickshaw drivers operating legally within the city. Easier access to licensing services can help improve compliance with traffic regulations while supporting safer and more organized transportation services.
Officials have encouraged eligible drivers to take advantage of the new facilities and complete the licensing process at the center most convenient for them. The initiative reflects the Lahore Traffic Police’s commitment to enhancing public service delivery and supporting the city’s growing transportation sector.
With multiple centers now available, rickshaw drivers can expect faster processing times, reduced travel costs and a more convenient route to obtaining commercial driving licenses in Lahore.
