The federal government has announced a major development initiative aimed at positioning Islamabad as a world-class business and tourism destination. A key component of the strategy is the development of five-star hotels through joint ventures with international hospitality groups. These projects are expected to enhance tourism capacity in Islamabad while also improving accommodation options for diplomatic, business, and leisure travelers.
Under the proposed framework, investors will be offered facilitation measures including tax exemptions, streamlined approvals, and regulatory support. The objective is to encourage global hotel chains and developers to participate in Pakistan’s hospitality sector.
The initiative is part of a broader vision to upgrade infrastructure and improve the city’s global competitiveness. By attracting international hotel brands, authorities aim to strengthen tourism inflows and create new employment opportunities in construction, services, and hospitality management.
