Data has already shown that the number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan increased with steady growth in mobile connectivity. The total cellular subscribers count was 193.346 million at September’s end while in August, it was 193.098 million.
Specifically, the number of 3G and 4G customers in Pakistan increased from 137.920 million at the end of August 2024 to 138.731 million at the end of September. Penetration of Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) increased slightly from 56.72% to 56.96% over the same period. Cellular teledensity, measured countrywide as several connections per 100 individuals, remained steady at 79%.
As of now, Jazz still leads in 4G subscribers, while 3G and 4G users across Pakistan going down for Jazz in August. The 3G subscribers for Jazz went down to 2.718 million during the month from 2.443 million recorded during the preceding month. Its 4G subscriber base went up from 48.843 million to 49.418 million.
3G and 4G users in Pakistan: Which network is doing the best?
Zong had a similar trend for 3G and 4G customers in the country. Its count of 3G users went down to 1.912 million from August, while that of its 4G users increased to 37.869 million from 37.627 million during the same period.
Telenor too saw a decline in 3G and 4G users in Pakistan. Its 3G subscribers decreased from 1.519 million to 1.481 million by September. However, Telenor’s 4G users increased from 25.189 million in August to 25.399 million by September.
Ufone 3G and 4G subscribers in Pakistan also followed the trend. Despite a decline from 2.167 million to 2.143 million 3G subscribers, in the same period, its 4G subscribers followed an uptrend trajectory from 16.243 million to 16.368 million in the same time frame.
