This area dives deeper into the mythos surrounding the celestial bodies that influence the Lands Between, introducing a new faction known as the Moonbound, spectral warriors who once served under a forgotten demigod. The new NPC questlines further deepen the game’s rich worldbuilding. One notable addition is the character Elyra, Keeper of Stars, a blind astrologer who guides the player through cryptic riddles and celestial puzzles. Her story intertwines with the fate of the Nightreign Eclipse, hinting at new endings and possibly alternative paths in the main narrative. Her interactions are fully voice-acted and include branching dialogue trees that affect her ultimate fate and the rewards the player receives. The patch also reworks the multiplayer summoning system. Matchmaking now prioritizes proximity in soul level and weapon upgrade tier, which results in fairer and more balanced invasions. A new feature allows players to “mark” specific friends or enemies to make co-op or invasions more frequent between chosen players.
