Pakistanâs Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has recently updated the fee structure for e-Passports, offering Pakistani citizens both a standard and an urgent issuance option. This new e-Passport includes advanced biometric features, like a microchip with personal and biometric data, which aligns with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Citizens can now choose between five- and ten-year validity options, making it easier for frequent travelers and overseas Pakistanis to manage their travel documents effectivelyâ
The fee structure for e-Passports is tiered by both validity and urgency. For a standard 5-year passport with 36 pages, the fee is PKR 9,000, while the urgent issuance is PKR 15,000. A 10-year validity costs PKR 13,500 for a standard issuance and PKR 22,500 for urgent processing. For individuals needing extra pages, a 72-page passport version is also available, with fees higher than the standard 36-page passport. Fees can be paid at the National Bank of Pakistan and through popular mobile payment platforms, including JazzCash and EasyPaisa, offering applicants flexible payment optionsâ
Applying for an e-Passport in Pakistan involves a straightforward process that includes biometric data capture, fee verification, and a final interview to confirm personal information.
