The Islamabad Police have established a Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) to monitor and take action against drug peddlers targeting schools, colleges, and universities across the capital. The initiative aims to safeguard students and curb the supply of narcotics in educational environments.
According to a report submitted in the Islamabad High Court, SIW officers will operate in plain clothes while conducting their surveillance around educational institutions. This approach allows them to carry out investigations discreetly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to students and staff.
The intelligence personnel are tasked with coordinating closely with educational authorities. Schools, colleges, and universities will be informed and consulted whenever any enforcement action is required, ensuring a coordinated response to drug-related activities.
The Special Intelligence Wing will focus on evidence gathering, case monitoring, and active surveillance to identify drug peddlers and dismantle networks supplying narcotics to students. This proactive step reflects Islamabad Police’s commitment to creating a safe and drug-free educational environment.
Authorities have emphasized the importance of community cooperation, urging students, parents, and staff to report suspicious activities. By combining intelligence-led policing with public awareness, the police aim to significantly reduce the presence of drugs in educational institutions.
