Government Announces Winter Gas Supply Schedule
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued directives to ensure uninterrupted gas supply for domestic consumers from 5 AM to 10 PM during winter. The announcement was made in the National Assembly by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, who addressed concerns regarding ongoing gas shortages.
Prioritizing Household Needs
The prime minister has instructed gas companies to prioritize domestic consumers, ensuring stable supply during peak hours for cooking and heating. Malik stated that compared to last year, gas load-shedding has significantly reduced, with the government working to further improve distribution efficiency.
Monitoring Low-Pressure Areas
The petroleum minister acknowledged that some areas still experience low gas pressure and urged citizens to report issues for immediate resolution. He assured that the government is actively monitoring supply networks to minimize disruptions.
Swift Resolution of Consumer Complaints
Malik revealed that authorities received 80,000 to 90,000 complaints in November, mostly related to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). He noted that 70-80% of these complaints were resolved within 36 hours, demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing public concerns.
Commitment to Winter Gas Management
Reiterating the government’s focus on energy management, Malik emphasized that uninterrupted household gas supply remains a top priority. The administration is working to ensure citizens have reliable access to gas during the winter months.
