The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has launched a new documentary to commemorate Defence and Martyrs Day, a national occasion observed every year on September 6. This day holds immense significance as it marks the memory of the 1965 war against India, where Pakistan’s armed forces and its people displayed extraordinary courage and resilience.
The documentary captures the sacrifices of the Ghazis of 1965, highlighting their stories of bravery, faith, and unity. It serves as a reminder of how a nation, despite overwhelming challenges, stood firm in its commitment to defend sovereignty.
Narratives from the Ghazis
The documentary offers an emotional yet powerful narrative of the war. Retired army officials recount their experiences, describing critical moments that defined Pakistan’s military response. Their recollections emphasize not only the tactical brilliance of the armed forces but also the deep spirit of sacrifice that continues to inspire younger generations.
Special mention is given to officers like MM Alam, whose legendary aerial combat feats are still celebrated, and Sajjad Haider, whose leadership played a crucial role during key operations.
