Senior PTV actor Anwar Ali passed away at the age of 71 after a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances. He was widely admired for his versatile acting in popular dramas such as Khudabaksh, Nishani, Andhera Ujala, Ababeel, Home Sweet Home, Comedy Theatre, and Sona Chaandi. Beyond television, Anwar Ali was a renowned stage performer, celebrated for his impeccable comic timing, expressive style, and powerful body language that captivated audiences for decades.
At the height of his successful career, Anwar Ali made a surprising decision to step away from showbiz. He chose instead to dedicate his life to religious pursuits, which reflected his deep personal convictions and spiritual journey.

In recent years, Anwar Ali had been battling multiple health complications, including kidney disease and paralysis. He also suffered two strokes that significantly impacted his health. According to family sources, his condition deteriorated further and he was admitted to a hospital in Lahore on Sunday. Despite doctors’ efforts to stabilize him, he could not recover and breathed his last.
His funeral will take place in Model Town, Lahore, once his daughter arrives from abroad to attend the final rites. The announcement has left fans and fellow artists mourning the loss of a veteran who contributed immensely to Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
